Elisha was the son of Nathaniel and Hannah (HALL) BASSETT.
Elisha married 1st Mercy/Marcy SHERMAN 23 Mar 1786, Rochester, Plymouth County, Massachusetts. They had one child who died young.
Elisha married 2nd Keturah WEST, 14 Jul 1793, Tisbury, Martha's Vineyard Island, Dukes County, Massachusetts. They had children:

Mercy BASSETT.
Elisha married 3rd to Abigail DILLINGHAM 30 Mar 1799, Sandwich, Barnstable County, Massachusetts. They had children:

Elisha was a soldier and patriot in the American Revolutionary War. In 1780, he was a private in Captain Nathan TOBEY's company on the Rhode Island Alarm.
