    SPINK

    J. O. Spink a prominent citizen of Orangeville, passed away Sunday afternoon January 20, after an illness of about two weeks.
    Jonathan Olin Spink, son of Allen D. and Lydia Olin Spink, was born Feb. 18th, 1833 in the town of Orangeville on the farm now occupied by George Snyder near Cobble Hill.

    He has been a resident of Orangeville nearly all his life. When 17 years of age his parents came overland from Ohio, he riding horse back and driving the cattle. Mr. Spink was a farmer by occupation dividing his time between farming and teaching when a young man. He was appointed Postmaster in 1877 which office he held until it was discontinued about a year ago under the regulations of R. F. D. In politics he was Republican having served his town as Supervisor, Town Clerk and eight consecutive terns as Justice of the Peace.

    He was married November 22nd, 1860 to Lovina Wilcox, who with four children survive him, Eugene D., Allen D., Mrs. Vesta Weeks and Mrs. David Hall, all of Orangeville. He leaves two sisters, Mrs. Amy Cowdin and Mrs. Cynthia Richards, also three brothers, Winfield S., John J. and Martin M, besides a host of relatives and friends. Funeral services from the late home, Wednesday at 1 o'clock with interment in Orangeville Cemetery.
