WINDSOR, Vt. -- Rachel Grace (Picard) Hall, 88, formerly of Ashfield, Mass., died Sunday (6-9-02) at Mount Ascutney Health & Rehab.

Born in Chicopee, Mass., Dec. 6, 1913, she was the daughter of Isadore and Florida (DesLauier) Picard. She attended Chicopee schools.

She was married to Howard Hall in 1936 in Goshen, Mass. The couple lived on a farm in Ashfield for several years. After retiring from Kendall Mills in Colrain, Mass., they moved to Brooksville, Fla., in the mid-1960s. After the death of her husband in 1985, she remained in Florida, moving to Windsor in 1997.

Hall enjoyed bingo.

Survivors include two daughters, Nancy Reeves of Hartford, Vt., and Gladys Wilbur of Harrisburg, Pa.; three brothers, Francis Picard of Agawam, Mass., and Donald and Harold Picard, both of Chicopee; a sister, Rita Zajchowski of Chicopee; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A son, Richard, died in 1993.

A private committal service will be held in Hill Cemetery, Ashfield, at the convenience of the family.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the First Congregational Church Capital Campaign, P.O. Box 519, Ashfield, MA 01330. Knight Funeral Home, White River Junction, is in charge of arrangements.

WEST BOYLSTON - Ralph A. Hall, 41, of 277 West Boylston St., died Thursday at home after an illness.

He leaves his father, Ralph Hall of Holden; his mother, Ann (Benedict) Katz of Franklinton, La.; two brothers, Karl R. Hall of Worcester and John S. Hall of West Boylston; two sisters, Kathryn H. Dombroski and Elizabeth H. Krisen, both of San Jose, Calif.; his maternal grandparents, Dr. Karl and Dasie (Melhuish) Benedict of Worcester; his paternal grandmother, Mary A. (MacDonald) Hall of West Boylston; nephews and nieces. He was born in Holden and graduated from Doherty High School in Worcester.

Mr. Hall worked several years for Hall Brothers Moving, Worcester.

He was a member of First Congregational Church.

A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in First Congregational Church, 26 Central St. Burial will be in Mount Vernon Cemetery. Calling hours are 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Fay Brothers Funeral Home, 1 West Boylston St.

Mr. and Mrs. Percival F. Brundage of 169 Christopher Street have made known the engagement of their daughter, Miss Lois Brundage to Joseph L. Baker, son of Mr. and Mrs. Chester Baker of 6 Tuxedo Road, Glen Ridge. The annoucement was annouced at an informal luncheon Monday.

The bride-elect is a graduate of Montclair High School and recently was graduated from Lake Erie College in Painesville, Ohio.

Mr. Baker is a graduate of Newark Academy and served with the Marine Corps during the war. He is now attending the University of Pennsylvania where he is a member of Phi Kappa Sigma fraternity.
