They had many children, including a Henry who was baptized at North Cray, Kent, in the 1570s. Family pedigrees from the 1619 visitation show that the only surviving sons were Lambert and George. She was born March 22, 1924, in Wrentham, MA, the daughter of Coe and Josephine (Mitchell) Metcalf. Peg held many jobs in her life. Locally she worked at Halladay's and Mental Health Services. She was a member of the Mothers Club, was assistant Girl Scout leader, and part of the Fire Department Auxiliary, all in Saxtons River and was a member of the Legion Auxiliary in Bellows Falls. On May 1, 1943, she married James Larsen, who predeceased her. Surviving are her children, James "Skip" Larsen of Bellows Falls, Robert and Terry Larsen of Bellows Falls, Debra Whitcomb and Gary Rorison of El Paso, Texas, Diane and Max Frazer of Ascutney, Ronn and Sandra Larsen and Scott and Colleen Larsen of Kalispell, Montana, and Pam Kissell and Richard Nebbett of Springfield; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents; her son, Alan Larsen; her daughter, Cheryl Riendeau; her brother; George Metcalf; and her sister, Ruth Metcalf. Margaret was born in Adams, MN, on May 5, 1918 to Alma Hanson and Stanley Dale Smith. She moved to LeRoy, MN, at 3 months of age. In 1929, when she was 11, her family moved to Austin, MN. She graduated from Austin High School in 1936 and went to work for Hormel Foods. Her "claim to fame" was she witnessed the first Spam can come off the line. ?On October 25th, 1937 she married the love of her life, Theodore R. Hall. They were married for 58 years until Theodore passed away in 1995 at the age of 80. ?Margaret enjoyed being a homemaker and worked at several retail businesses during the holiday season. She also worked as a teachers aid for the Austin Public Schools. While a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church, she taught Sunday School and was a devoted member of WELCA and ?Ladies Aid Circles. ?She took part in Symphony Study Group, ?was active in the PTA, and held every local office, except treasurer, for the DOES. Including State President, where charity, patriotism, loyalty and love were the motto. Margaret volunteered at the American Red Cross for 20 years and was a member of DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution). ?? ?In her pastime she enjoyed Baking, Reading, Jig Saw Puzzles, Word Finds, Knitting and Crocheting. She made 520 baby caps that were sent to Tanzania and the Marie Sanvick Shelter in St. Paul. Her family received homemade afghans, and various handmade items throughout the years. Every family member received a handmade Christmas ornament every year! ?She is survived by her sister, Beverly June Smith, Austin, MN. She was proceeded in death by her parents Stanley Dale and Alma Smith, Husband Theodore, son Bruce, baby Hall, granddaughters Bridget Pickavance and Barbara in infancy' grandson Richard Hall and son-in-law, Richard Ellefson. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, August 9th at 11 AM at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin with Todd Portinga, Associate in Ministry, officiating. | 71285 | Marguerite "Marge" Pearl (Hall) Chapdelaine of Port Charlotte, Florida and formerly of Owego, New York went to the loving arms of the Lord on Sunday, November 2, 2014. The daughter of Ralph and Mary (MacDonald) Hall she was born in Astoria, New York on August 25, 1932 where her father worked on construction of the Lincoln Tunnel. She moved with her family to their farm in West Boylston, Massachusetts where she graduated from Major Edwards High School then went on to earn her degree in nursing from Nashua (New Hampshire) Memorial Hospital. In 1955 she married her favorite dance partner Bob Chapdelaine and together they raised two sons. Marge was an OR Nurse at Wilson Memorial Hospital and was a school nurse for 21 years for the Owego-Apalachin School District where she was a favorite of many students and teachers. She also worked as a waitress at many Owego restaurants but loved working at the Parkview Hotel most of all. Her favorite activities were bowling and playing the Owego Bingo circuit. Upon her retirement she and Bob pursued their love of camping and travel eventually settling in the sunshine state. Marge will be remembered for her loving and contagious laugher, her devotion to everything her sons did, her never ending stories, and her love of the slot machines. She was one of the luckiest people on earth. She is survived by her devoted husband of 59 years Robert, her sons and daughters in law Mark and Lissa Chapdelaine of Gillet Pa, and Dennis and Rosemary Chapdelaine of Ottawa, Ontario, her Brother Ralph and wife Joy Hall of Holden, Massachusetts, many nieces and nephews and 2 very special nieces Kathy Dombrowski of Sarasota, Florida and Beth Tivnan of Upton, Massachusetts. Her mother, father and brother Clifford predecease her. A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 7, 12:00 at Estey, Monroe & Fahey Funeral Home on 15 Park Street in Owego. She was a member Tomah Senior High of 1947. Marian was united in marriage to Donald J. Protz Nov. 29, 1947, in Tomah. He preceded her in death Dec. 22, 1999. Marian owned a small cake decorating and gift shop working from home in the 70s called, The Gift Nook. She worked at Van Pack as an office worker, Tomah Memorial Hospital's ER admitting desk, and at Hardware Hanks as a sales clerk. She was a member of Tomah I Dividers Snowmobile Club among other groups and enjoyed playing cards with her friends. She was a loving mother and lived for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by three daughters, Sarah Protz (her friend, Bryan) of East Troy, Kathie Boldon of Madison and Amelia (James) Walker of Farmington, Minn.; two sisters, Marguerite Johnson of Little Rock, Ark. and Geraldine (Roy) Graham of Byron Center, Mich.; a brother, Gerald Hall of Waterloo; eight grandchildren, Nicolas Boldon, Brian Boldon, Trina Protz, Kelly Protz, Corey Protz, Adrienne Walker, Emily Walker and James "Jimmie" Walker; 15 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. | 71287 | Marianne H. Tukey, 66, of Charlestown, passed away on June 21 at Rhode Island Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Paul M. Tukey, to whom she was married for 43 years. Marianne was born in Princeton, New Jersey, the daughter of the late Hugh C. and Mary (Jelm) Hoffman. She graduated from Miss Fine's School, Pine Manor College, and Wheaton College. A superbly gifted and passionate teacher of young children, Marianne taught at North Broward Day School in Deerfield Beach, Florida; at Rocky Hill School in East Greenwich; and for thirty-one years at South County Montessori School in North Kingstown. Teaching was truly a labor of love for Marianne, and she derived her greatest pleasure from helping her students to grow and flourish in her classroom. In addition to her husband, Marianne is survived by her daughter, Melissa H. Tukey, M.D., of Bedford, Massachusetts; two brothers, Hugh C Hoffman and Brian K. Hoffman, both of Los Angeles; a sister, Karen H. Friedlander, of Milwaukee; and five nieces and nephews.
