Text | Hall formerly of Henbury Maurice Arthur Hall, Officer of the Legion of Honour (France), Officer of the Order of Lion and Sun (Persia), Knight of the Order of Christ (Portugal), Member of the Society of the Cincinnati, and Hon. Citizen of Vendôme (France), b. 5 July, 1878; educ. Sorbonne, B. des Arts (1897); m. 22 June, 1925, in London, Grace Iona, dau. of the Rev. Albert Hugh Douglas Brunner, of Nashville, Tennessee, by his wife, Alice Surface. Lineage. -- Thomas Hall, of Ledbury Co. Hereford, son of Anthony Hall, of Henwick, Co. Worcester (living 1573), by Ann, his wife, he had issue. His will was proved 16 Nov. 1610. His son, Francis Hall, of Bromyard, Co. Hereford, whose will was proved 12 Feb. 1611, was the father of, Francis Hall, of Henbury, Co. Gloucester, whose son, Edward Hall, of Henbury, Co., Gloucester, left Great Britain in 1636, and settled in Massachusetts Bay, becoming the founder of this family in America. He held lands in Duxbury, Rehoboth, Braintree, Wrentham, and Brookfield, all in Massachusetts, m. Hester, his wife, and d. 27 Nov. 1670, at Rehoboth, Mass., leaving issue, Benjamin Hall, of Wrentham, b. 7 Aug. 1668; m. 9 Jan. 1690, Sarah, dau. of Cornelius Fisher, of Wrentham, by his wife Sarah Everett, and d. 25 Aug. 1726, leaving issue, Preserved Hall, of Wrentham, b. 28 Nov. 1706; m. 10 Sept. 1729, Abigail, dau. of Josiah Whitney, of Wrentham, and by her had issue, Timothy Hall, of Wrentham, b. 29 April, 1732; m. 23 May, 1757, Alice, dau. of John Smith, of Lancaster, Mass., by his wife, Martha Butler, and d. 6 Dec. 1784, at Hartford, Connecticut, leaving issue, Major Timothy Hall, of Brookfield, b. 4 June, 1758; m. 3 April, 1783, Eunice, dau. of Nathaniel Hills, of Hartford, Conn., by his wife Eunice Porter, and b. 6 Aug. 1844, at Hartford, leaving issue, Eli Hall, of Hartford, b. 8 Oct. 1785; m. 8 May 1810, Elizabeth, dau. of Captain Richard Treat, of Middletown, Conn., by his wife Hannah Savage, and d. 8 June, 1856, leaving issue, Charles Olmstead Hall, of Blandford, Mass., b. 6 April, 1832; m. 25 July, 1861, Mary Abby, dau. of Joseph Dale, of Salem, Mass., by his wife Mary Carlton Fry, and d. 29 Nov. 1893, at Nice, France, leaving issue, a son, Maurice Arthur Hall, of whom we treat.
