Deceased Name: Hall, Wilda Stewart
After many years of struggling with Alzheimer's, Wilda Hall passed away on Sunday, Oct. 14, 2007, and is now whole again being embraced by God and surrounded in love by her husband, Robert, and many loved ones who have gone before her. Her family rejoices in her life and will miss her.
She was born on June 9, 1922, lived through the Depression, went to school to become a nurse and married Robert E. Hall two days before he was deployed overseas during World War II.
On his return, they began their life together in Baton Rouge raising three sons. She was a nurse at Baton Rouge General Medical Center until the early 1980s. After retiring, "Bill," as most knew her, worked for a while at the Greenwell Springs Drug Rehabilitation Hospital and shortly for the state.
Wilda and Robert were married for 62 years before his death in March 2006. She is survived by three sons, Stewart E. Hall, Gary K. Hall and wife Nancy, and Dale A. Hall and wife Cindy; grandchildren, Lindsey H. Hooper, Kendall D. Hall, Danielle L. Hall, Joseph R. Hall, Matthew L. Hall, Andrea Springer and Lundyn Springer; sister, Madeline S. Wascom, and husband J.D.; and many nieces and nephews. She also had two great-grandchildren, Wesley C. Hooper, and Kayden Summerville, whom she was able to meet and hold for the first time on Sept. 16.
Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East chapel, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Tuesday, Oct. 16, from 10 a.m. until religious service at noon, conducted by the Rev. Tony Hand. Pallbearers are Stewart, Gary Dale, Joseph, Matthew and Kendall Hall. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Memorial donations may be given in her name to Alzheimer's Services of Baton Rouge.
