Abigail Burgess was born on 25 September 1710 in Yarmouth, Barnstable County, Massachusetts, a daughter of Samuel and Elizabeth Burgess.

She married
(1) Stephen Sears in April 1733, and
(2) Benjamin Sears on 30 June 1737.

About 1745, she removed to the town of South East, Dutchess County (present-day Southeast, Putnam County), New York, where she resided on Joe's Hill just east of the present-day village of Brewster.

She died after 25 March 1784.
