Notes:

Captain of the Clipper Ship "Hippogriffe", built by Shiverick in East Dennis. In 1858 the ship foundered on an uncharted rock in the Java Sea. The rock has since been known as Hippogriffe Rock. He also Captained the "Amulet" in the 1850s and another Shiverick ship, the "Kit Carson" in the 1860s.
