    From FindaGrave:

George W. Hall worked as a carpenter around Cass County, Michigan in the 1870's. However, in the 1855 New York Census, he is listed as a farmer. He is also listed in the 1850 Onondaga County, New York Census.

The family came to Dowagiac, Cass County, Michigan sometime between 1856 and 1858. He is listed with his family in the 1860, Dowagiac, Cass County, Michigan Census. In addition, he moved his family to Kalamo Township, Eaton County, Michigan sometime before 1870 because the census lists him and his family as being neighbors to a cousin. He was living next door to his first cousin, Dr. John W. Hall, who was a son of Ephriam Hall III.

George's uncles; Ephriam Hall Jr. and Elijah Hall settled quite early in Eaton County, Michigan - having moved there from Navarino, Onondaga County, New York. However, the 1874 Eaton County, census does not list him and his family, so sometime between 1870 and 1879, he moved his family back to Dowagiac, Cass County, Michigan.

George died of congestion of the lungs. According to his death certificate, he was 64 years and 7 months old. His death record can be found at the Cassopolis, Cass County Clerk's Office.

George's mother, Betsy, died in Cass County, Michigan on September 10, 1858. She is buried in Riverside Cemetery, Dowagiac, Cass County, Michigan, along with his son; Jehiel, daughter; Urette, her husband; Isaac Van Syckle, and George's sister; Harriet and Charles Brownell, her second husband. Also, Charles Brownell's parents; Simeon and Elizabeth (Churchill), are buried in the same plot area.
