John Azariah Wilcox was living with his parents in Mapleton, Maine in 1870. Shortly after his marriage to Mary Olive Hughes he moved to Hodgdon, Maine, where five of his twelve children were born. By 1882 the family had returned to Mapleton where John lived the remainder of his life. His residence was located on Hughes Road on the homestead of his father. The home that he built was later re-built and occupied by Llewelyn Wilcox. John and Mary Olive Wilcox are buried in the old Mapleton Cemetery.
