    Floyd L. Kendrick

    Floyd Leland Kendrick, age 83, passed away peacefully July 16, 2001 with his family by his side.

    Born December 26, 1917 in Providence, Utah, son of Frank Henry and Louisa Amelia Egg Kendrick. Married Erma Andrews August 30, 1937 in Preston, Idaho; sealed for time and eternity September 18, 1944 in the Logan LDS Temple. He served for three years in the U.S. Army during World War II as 1st Sergeant. Member of the American Legion. Worked as an electrician for 48 years. Active member and High Priest in the LDS Church. He was an excellent fisherman and hunter, was an artist that enjoyed oil painting, was a skilled craftsman in all undertakings. Avid gardener, loved traveling, camping and was a member of the Good Sam Club.

    Survived by wife, Erma; children, Wayne (LuAnn) Kendrick, American Fork; Sherrie (Marty) Reese, Yuba City, CA; Steven Kendrick, West Valley City; Jeff (Jackie) Kendrick, Sandy; Corey (Marianne) Kendrick, Bluffdale; 25 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; two sisters. Preceded in death by daughter, Catherine, in 1994.

    No one will ever forget the twinkle in his eye and the sweet smile he freely gave to all he met - family, friend or stranger and will be remembered for his sense of humor and story telling.

    Floyd loved his family and friends and was eager to help anyone in need. He set a wonderful example for his posterity and was a man respected for his honesty and service to others.

    Graveside services will be held Thursday, July 19, 2001, 10 a.m. at the Providence City Cemetery, Providence, Utah. Friends and family may call Wednesday, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road.
