Notes:

Thomas White came from England and arrived in Weymouth, MA around 1635.  He was made a freeman of Massachusetts Bay Colony 3 Mar 1635/6. In 1659, he called himself about 60.  He was a deputy 1636, 1637, 1657, and 1670.  He died at Weymouth in
Aug 1679.  He made his will 5 Jul and it was proved 28 Aug 1679.  In it he mentions his sons Joseph, Samuel, Thomas, and daughter, Hannah Baxter, and his grandchildren Lydia, Mary and Ebenezer White and Hannah Baxter (Suffolk Probate).

Came to Massachusetts Bay in 1635 (based on admission to freemanship on 3 Mar 1635/6). Settled at Weymouth MA, where he was a carpenter.

He was born about 1599 (deposed on 21 Oct 1659 "aged about 60 years").

He married by about 1635 ____ ____. She was living as late as about 1649, when her youngest child was born, but was not named in her husband's will in 1679. They had five known children.

He died between 5 Jul 1679 (date of will) & 26 Aug 1679 date of inventory).

Old North Cemetery is the primary burying ground for the early settlers, there is an earlier one at Wessagusset, but no remains are still there just a memorial.

Son of Thomas White and ____ White. The identity of his mother is not known. Joseph is listed as eldest son in NEHGS' Great Migration, Vol VII, p.341, born perhaps as early as 1635. This would be the same year of his father's migration.

He married Lydia Rogers on Sep 19,1660 at Weymouth,MA.

Children: Joseph White, Lydia White Cook, Joseph White Jr, John White, Thomas White, Samuel White, Ebenezer White, Mary White Hill Chapin, Ann White Trask, Experience White Millard, and Hannah White Warfield.

Hannah White was probably born about 1640 in Braintree, Norfolk, Massachusetts. Her father was Thomas White of Braintree. On November 24, 1659, she was joined in marriage to John Baxter at Braintree by Capt. Tory of Weymouth. Hannah and John had six children while living in Braintree. John was a soldier in King Phillip's War. At the present time, it is not known where or when Hannah died, or where she is buried.

NEHGR 37:287 John Bacster and Anna White were married 24 of the 9th month, 1659 by Capt. Tory of Weymouth, 53:393 White Family, 37:280 John was a soldier in King Phillip's War.

Hannah married Lieut. John Baxter, Sr. on 24 Nov 1659 in Braintree, Norfolk County, Massachusetts. John (son of Gregory Baxter, of Sporle, Norfolk, England and Margaret Paddy) was born on 1 Dec 1639 in Roxbury, Suffolk County, Massachusetts; died on 20 Apr 1719 in Braintree, Norfolk County, Massachusetts; was buried after 20 Apr 1719 in Hancock Cemetery, Quincy, Norfolk County, Massachusetts. Samuel White was made a freeman 23 May 1666 and was chosen a deputy from Weymouth 1679.

He was called "Captain" for his distinction in capturing the deposed Governor Andros.  When Andros made his escape, Samuel received a warrant from Governor Bradstreet and his council to pursue the deposed Governor Andros and bring him back -
which he did with a troop of 52 men.  For that service he received 22 pounds, 8 pence.

Capt Samuel White and his wife, Mary Dyer, had no children.

Thomas White's will was dated 28 March 1706 and proved 16 may 1706.  The inventory of estate taken on 19 April 1706 was valued at 444 pounds, 7 shillings, 6 pence.
