In the name of God Amen. The 18th of April in the year of our Lord God 1610, I Thomas Hall of Ledbury in the county of Hereford, vintner, being weak and sick in body but perfect of mind and memory, thanks be given to God, do willingly render
and give again into the hands of God my creator my spirit which he of his fatherly goodness gave unto me in my mother's womb, nothing doubting but that he in his infinite mercies, set forth in the precious blood of his dearly beloved son Jesus
Christ my saviour and redeemer, he will receive my soul into his glory. And as concerning my body, even with a good will I give it over, commending it to the earth whereof it came, nothing doubting but at the general resurrection when we shall
all appear before the judgement seat of Christ I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God wherewith he is able to subdue all things unto himself, not a corruptible, mortal and vile body, as now it is, but immortal and
uncorruptible. And as touching my lands and goods which God hath in his infinite mercy and goodness bestowed upon me and blessed me withal, I give and distribute the same unto the world again in manner and form following: First I give and
bequeath towards the reparations of the church of Ledbury 3s. 4d. Item I do give and bequeath unto the poorest people of the town of Ledbury 40s., to be delivered among them at the discretion of my executrix and overseers. Item I give and
bequeath unto Edward Hall my eldest son all that my house wherein I now dwell in Ledbury aforesaid, and all the houses, backside houses, backside and garden with the appurtenances from and immediately after the decease of Anne my wife and not
before, unto the said Edward Hall, his heirs and assigns for ever. And I do also give and bequeath unto the said Edward my son all my bedsteads, table boards, forms, frames, wainscot, joined stools, chairs, presses and cupboards in my said
house.
Nevertheless my will and meaning is and I do give and bequeath the occupation of all the said houses, backside, garden, and implements of household unto Anne my wife for and during the term of her natural life. Item my will and meaning also is
that the said Edward my son shall content and pay or raise to be paid unto Francis Hall and William Hall, two other of my sons, the sum of
