Notes:

Abraham Staples was an original settler of Blackstone, MA, in 1667. The area of Blackstone was known as the South Parish or the South Precinct of Mendon. He fled Mendon in 1675 during the King Philip War. He returned to Mendon in 1678. He,
and his wife, Mary Randall, moved to what is now known as the Daniels Farmstead in 1678.



Seth Southwick (1768-1835) bought the farm from Nahor Staples in 1793. Nahor Staples was a fourth generation direct descendent of Abraham Staples.



The Southwick Family is the same family that started Southwicks Zoo in Mendon, MA which began with Justin Southwick in 1963,

Abraham married Mary Randall on 10 Sep 1660 in Weymouth, MA. Mary (daughter of Deceased and Living) was born on 20 Mar 1641-1642 in Weymouth, MA; died on 9 Mar 1712-1713 in Mendon, MA. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

Abraham married Mehitable Hayward about 1688. Mehitable (daughter of Samuel Hayward and Mehitable Thompson) was born about 1670; and died. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

Mehitable married Jonathan Cook on 4 Feb 1715-1716 in Mendon, MA. Jonathan (son of John Cook and Naomi Thayer) was born on 27 Feb 1685 in Uxbridge, MA; and died. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

Abigail married Elisha Thompson on 20 Feb 1746 in Uxbridge, MA. Elisha (son of Deceased and Living) was born on 9 Mar 1718 in Mendon, MA; and died. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

Naomi married Benjamin White on 28 Apr 1743 in Uxbridge, MA. Benjamin (son of Benjamin White and Mary Thayer) was born on 7 Jan 1722 in Uxbridge, Worcester, MA; died in 1785. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
