    From FindaGrave:

Captain Lemuel Roberts was the son of Lemuel Roberts and Lydia Purchase. He was born CT and moved to VT as a young man. He served in the Am Rev, enlisting several times and being held captive and escaping from Canada. He wrote a memoir of his service which is one of the few such accounts that lasts to this day.

He married Sarah/Sally Collins daughter of Thomas and Lydia Collins in Ira, Rutland Co, VT on 14 Oct 1781. He and Sarah had at least nine children: Charlotte, Samuel, Lydia, Sarah, Lemuel, Achjah, Rosamond, Delight, and Betsey.

Franklin Co VT town records say he is buried in this cemetery, but on a visit to the cemetery about summer, 1994 I could not find a stone.

His family members moved west after his death, including his wife who is said to have died somewhere in Western NY.
