  1. 1.  Capt. Samuel White was born about 1642; died on 19 Aug 1699 in Weymouth, Norfolk County, Massachusetts.

    Notes:

    Samuel White was made a freeman 23 May 1666 and was chosen a deputy from Weymouth 1679.

    He was called "Captain" for his distinction in capturing the deposed Governor Andros.  When Andros made his escape, Samuel received a warrant from Governor Bradstreet and his council to pursue the deposed Governor Andros and bring him back -
    which he did with a troop of 52 men.  For that service he received 22 pounds, 8 pence.

    Capt Samuel White and his wife, Mary Dyer, had no children.
