    Sarah Rogers was the daughter of John Rogers (1701-1739) and Mary Wing (1704-1741) of Harwich, Massachusetts.

    Sarah was married John Burgess on Jan. 20, 1757 in Harwich, at the age of 19.

    John brought is his family to Maine in 1784, and settled in Vinalhaven, where he is on a March 16, 1786 settler's list. By 1820, he was living in Belfast, Maine.

    John Burgess and his wife, Sarah Rogers, are buried on the family farm that was on Pitcher Pond in Belfast, Maine.
