Stephen HOPKINS is the Son of John Hopkins and Jane Strong.
NOTE: The identity of John Hopkins's wife as Jane Strong of Chardstock, Dorset, England, daughter of Thomas & Joanna Bagge, is controversial. While there are records pointing to Jane STRONG as his wife, there is no strong evidence proving or disproving Jane's Maiden Name.

In 1656-1657 Stephen HOPKINS was made a freeman of Hartford, Hartford Co, CT.

About 1657 Stephen HOPKINS married.

In 1668 & 1672 Stephen HOPKINS was chosen townsman of Hartford, Hartford Co, CT.

In 1680 Stephen HOPKINS erected a grist mill for the inhabitants of Mattatuck (now Waterbury), New Haven Co, CT. He did not move there, he stayed in Hartford, Hartford Co, CT, but he sent his son John HOPKINS to operate this mill.
