    She graduated Helmuth Ladies College in 1885 and traveled to Europe to continue study music at Cologne, Germany and continued to perform in Europe.

    She married Dr. Richard Irvine Howitt (1865-1910) in Pasadena, California, 26 Oct 1896. Dr. Howitt "worked for the railroad" (per my grandmother) as physician, a position which required travel. Husband, wife, and 2 young children moved to Minas Prietas, Sonora, Mexico, leaving only when the war broke out.

    She is buried with her husband at Mountain View Cemetery in Altadena, California, USA, near her parents and some siblings.

    There was a pretty wedding at St. Luke's at noon yesterday, the contracting parties being Miss Eleanor Hall, daughter of Rev. W. Wyllys Hall, D.D., of Pasadena, and A. Stevens Halsted of the firm of Giffon & Halsted of Los Angeles.

    The church was prettily decorated for the occasion with Bermuda lilies, white sweet peas and ferns, which were artistically massed upon the altar.

    Rev. Mr. hall, father of the bride, assisted by Rev. Mr. Shaw and Rev. E. B. Church, read the solemn words that made the happy young couple one. The bride was attended by her sister, Miss edna Hall, who officiated as maid of honor, and Miss Virginia Rowland of Pasadena, Miss marguerite Halsted, Miss Miriam Hall and Miss Grace Kellogg officiated as bridesmaids. George Yocum was best man and W. R. P. Clark and E. W. Kimball were the ushers.
    George Herbert Kellogg, uncle of the bride, have her into the keeping of the groom.

    The bride wore a dainty gown of white organdie, trimmed with valenciennes lace. Her veil was the same worn by the groom's mother at her bridal, and the wreath belonged to the bride's mother.

    The maid of honor wore a stylish gown of salmon pink silk, with white Swiss overdress. She wore a large white hat ornamented with pink feathers, and carried sweet peas.

    After the ceremony there was a bridal breakfast for the bridal party and relatives at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. G. H. Kimball, 2130 Post street. An informal reception followed between the hours of 3 and 5.

    Mr. and Mrs. Halsted have gone to Portland on a bridal tour. They will be at home after July at 200 California street, Pasadena.

    Mrs. Eleanor H. Halsted of Pasadena Dies at 81

    Mrs. Eleanor Hall Halsted, 81, active in social and civic life of Pasadena for many years, died yesterday after a short illness. She had been a resident in Pasadena for the last 62 years.

    Mrs. Halsted was a charter member of the Town Club of Pasadena and a long-time member of the Valley Hunt Club. She was born in Piqua, O., and in 1892 came to Pasadena, where her father, Dr. Wyllys Hall, served as rector of All-Saints Episcopal Church.

    Married in 1897

    In 1897 she married A. Stevens Hasted, who at the time of his death in 1932 was general counsel of the Union Pacific Railroad.

    She leaves a son, A. Stevens Hasted Jr., a granddaughter, Miss Croftan Hasted, and a grandson, A. Stevens Hasted III, all of Pasadena.

    A private service at the graveside will be conducted tomorrow at the San Gabriel Cemetery. Friends are asked not to send flowers. Turner & Stevens Mortuary, Pasadena, is in charge of arrangements.
