Herbert Waldron Faulkner was an artist and writer. He was the husband of Mary (Jahu) Faulkner.

They were the parents of Herbert Waldron Faulkner and Louis Faulkner.

He was a resident of Stamford,Connecticut into the 1880s.

Herbert studied at Yale University and the Arts Students League in New York City. From 1902-1908 he was in Paris, France, where he studied at Ecole des Beaux Arts, He then was a resident of Washington, Connecticut from 1910 until his death in 1940.

He was known for his sea landscapes and illustrations. Faulkner had art exhibitions at the Pan American Exposition in Buffalo, N.Y. in 1901, The Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, 1902-1905 and 1908, The Daniell Gallery of Los Angeles,California, 1911 and 1913. Today you can find his work at the Dallas Museum of Art, Museum of Art at Brigham Young University, the National Museum of American Art at the Smithsonian, the Oklahoma City Museum of Art and close to his home the Mattatuck Museum in Waterbury,Connecticut. Faulkner also wrote several books, the most popular being "The Mysteries of the Flowers" a beautifully illustrated book of flowers that was published in 1917.
