    A graduate of Harvard College in 1737 and received his D. D. from the U. of Edinburgh, Scotland in 1767. He was elected the president of Haravard, but declined to serve the church. In 1742 he was the Minister of the North Church of Boston, Mass. and worked as a missionary among the Indians.

    He was probably the son of Andrew Eliot (1683-1749), and married Elizabeth Langdon on Oct. 5, 1742. He is probably buried in Boston.
