A BIOGRAPHY OF JANE "JENNIE" PADDOCK BRADFORD, by Laurence Overmire (6th great grandson), Aug. 2008:

Jane "Jennie" Paddock was born in Yarmouth, Barnstable County, Massachusetts, Aug. 30, 1717, the third of nine children of Deacon Ichabod Paddock and Joanna Faunce. Her father was a distinguished elder of the Church of Plymouth. He has been shown to be a descendant of the immigrant Augustine Bearse whose Native American wife Mary Hyanno was reportedly the great granddaughter of Chief Canonicus of the Narragansett nation. Her mother's ancestors include the immigrants John Faunce and Patience Morton who came to America in 1623 on the ship "Anne."

On Oct. 8, 1741, at Plymouth, Massachusetts, 24-year-old Jane married 23-year-old Gideon Bradford, the son of Lt. Samuel Bradford and Sarah Gray, and the great great grandson of Gov. William Bradford of the Mayflower. In the ensuing years, Jane gave birth to seven children: Levi, Joseph, Sarah, Samuel, Gideon, Calvin, and Jennie.

Gideon was the owner of the Old Forge on the Winnetuxet River. An important and respected member of the community, Gideon held various positions of authority including Justice of the Peace, Selectman, and Assessor, as well as moderator of Plympton town meetings.

Jane died in Plympton on Apr. 18, 1795, at the age of 77 and was laid to rest in Ye Olde Burial Grounds there.

Behold the husband, parent, friend is fled.
His generous heart was prompt at pitty's call.
He ever felt and prayed and wept for all,
Lending redeeming love, he spent his days,
And his last dying accents uttered praise."
