A Captain in the RI Militia during the Revolutionary War, serving mainly on Aquidneck Island until his capture and imprisonment by the British occupiers. His imprisonment lasted for approximately one year and was released along with several others soon after General Burgoyne's defeat at Saratoga, NY.
