    Ora Orlando was the son of Benjamin F and Susan (Farnsworth) Bell. He married Minerva M Hall. (1858-1935), she was the daughter of William and Joanna (Thomas) Hall.

    Ora Bell's father was killed in the Civil war and he was more or less raised by his grandparents, Orlando and Samantha Bell. He worked his grandfather's farm for several years and was in the cattle business in Wyoming. 1886-1890 when he returned to Alburg and followed farming until 1901, when he sold the farm and removed to Alburg Village where he built the "Bell House", a hotel which he operated until about 1918 when it burned.

    Ora O Bell served in numerous public offices; Selectman 1894-7, 1905-6, 1907-12; constable for four years; School Director 1897-1900; Grand Isle Co., Sheriff, 1904-1908.
