From Death Record, he was son of Nathaniel Hall (and Mercy Crowell?), and he was born in Buckland. A Mercy Crowell, daughter of Aaron Crowell and Priscilla (Smith) Crowell, was born on April 21,1757, and she married Nathaniel Hall on February 1, 1787 at Ashfield,MA.

He is found in the Hawley 1860 census, aged 40 in the household of (his brother?) Daniel Hall.
