    Mercy became the wife of Colonel Briggs Alden, son of John Alden and Hannah Briggs. She was a direct descendant of Mayflower pilgrims John Alden and Priscilla Mullins.

    They married 18 Nov 1741 and had at least eight children all raised in the Alden house in Duxbury, including Hannah, John, Deborah, Judah, Nathaniel, Edith, and Abigail. Other children might have been Samuel, Briggs and Amherst.

    Judah of Duxbury was an Ensign in Capt. Samuel Bradford's Company, Col. Theophilus Cotton's regiment. He enlisted 01 May 1773 and was commissioned 27 May 1775, remained for for 3 years, 3 months and 8 days of service. He was then in Colonel John Bailey's regiment in of the 2nd regiment, from 01 Jan 1777 31 Dec 1779, and a Lieutenant in Colonel Ebenezer Sprout's 2nd regiment. His commission as Captain was confirmed by Congress 06 Sep 1779.
