Second child of John Strange Spencer Churchill and Gwendeline Bertie. He was a civil engineer.

He married Patricia Somerville in 1954. Tragically, she soon died of cancer. In 1957 he married Yvonne Henriette Mary Jehannin. Theirs was a long and happy marriage. There were no children from either marriage.

He was working on a book that was to give his father his proper place in history when he died suddenly of a heart attack.

His ashes are interred with his father.
