    Living next door to this family is the Family of Frank (36) and Margaret (36) Shannon.  After the 1880 census was taken and before the 1900 census, Hester passes away. George W. is now living in the home of his son William W. along with Williams wife Jennetta M. Walker, William N. (son), James L. ( son), and George S. (son).  George W. is now widowed after being married for 35 years. This would indicate that Hester passed early in the year of 1900.

    The 1910 census of the same source now shows Williams family growing. New additions to the family since the 1900 census are: Ann (daughter), John T. (son) and Mary E. (daughter). Williams father George W. is still living with the family.

    The 1920 census of the same above source now shows Williams family is getting smaller. William is now 54 and Jennette is 48. They are still farming. William N.  and Ann are now missing from the family as is Groege W.  who would be about 85 if he is still living.  Williams family on the census is now living next to the family of Frank Shannon. I believe this to be the same Frank Shannon who was enumerated as being next door to George W. on the 1880. This Frank is now 76 years and has remarried. New wife's name is Laura and she is 64. The 1920 census shows the home to be on River Road.

    The 1930 census of the same above source now only finds Lealand (Leonard) and John still living in Hanover both are on Main Cross St. 8 dwellings apart.

    "Dub Dub" He was also called Willie when he was a kid. He was raised on the Ohio river bottom near Hanover, Indiana. In 1873 waterway men came and made a deal with Willie's Dad for a place to set up Cooper's Bar light to guide the boat that ran at night. Willie was 7 years old then. His father appointed him assistant keeper of the light. It was something that could very well do despite his youth and the fact that the river bank, where the pole stood, was half a mile from the Walker home, for he had learned to ride horseback as soon as he could walk. His chore was to fill the lantern at the house, carry it horseback to the pole and without dismounting, hang it to the hook. The lantern served as a channel light but it also guided boats at night to Walker's Landing. Those where the great steamboat days on the Ohio River and many stopped at Walker's Landing. Some of them were; City of Cincinnati, City of Louisville, Nachez, Fleetwood, Guiding Star and the Chas. Morgan to name a few. For 70 years William Wade Walker tended Cooper's Bar light, seeing to it that it was ever kept burning, a guiding star, for the ships that passed in the night.
