    Chester D. Morgan, 82, passed away October 13, 2013 at St. Francis Hospital in Bartlett.

    Growing up during the Depression and World War II, he enlisted in the Army at the age of 18 and served two tours in Korea. In 1969 he retired after 20 years of service to his country with the rank of Master Sergeant. Fascinated with history throughout his life, after retirement he continued his education at Memphis State majoring in history and receiving his Master of Arts Degree in Geography. In 1993 he retired from the United States Postal Service. Mr. Morgan was a member of Raleigh United Methodist Church from 1968-2009; member of Parker Fellowship Sunday School Class, where he was president for several years and a member of First United Methodist Church since 2010.

    He was preceded in death by his wife of almost 60 years, Martha D. Morgan.

    He was survived by his children, Nancy Fosheé (Frank), Dr. Charles Morgan, Jennifer Clinghan, and Russell W. Morgan (Carol); sisters, Lucille Johnson and Janet Lytle (Dennis); grandchildren, Charles Wyatt Fosheé, Whitney Avery (David), Rebecca Morgan, Daniel Morgan, and David Morgan; and great grandchild, Dominic Avery.

    The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Thursday, October 17 and the funeral service 1 p.m. Friday, October 18 both at Memorial Park Funeral Home.

    Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave. Memphis, TN 38119, "Behind the Stone Wall".

    Chester married Martha Nan Douglas on 29 May 1951 in Arlington, Arlington County, Virginia. Martha was born on 16 Aug 1928 in Dentville, Copiah County, Mississippi; died on 6 Apr 2011; was buried on 9 Apr 2011 in Memorial Park Cemetery, Memphis, Shelby County, Tennessee.     Dr. Charles Dwight Morgan
    (June 13, 1955 - May 18, 2017)

    Dr. Charles Dwight Morgan, age 61, a McMinnville, TN resident and Montery, CA native was born June 13, 1955 and died May 18, 2017 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center following a sudden illness.

    He was the son of the late Chester D. Morgan, who died October 13, 2013 and Martha Douglas Morgan, who died April 2011. Dr. Morgan served as Medical Examiner of Warren County for 12 years and had a family practice here in McMinnville for 20 years.

    Survivors include wife, Angela Morgan of McMinnville; three children, Cory Lance and fiancée Kaite Hainey, Garret Lance and fiancée Page Haston, and Kelly and Rickey Willis all of McMinnville; three grandchildren, Hunter Willis, Jackson Willis and Andrew Willis; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Tony and Cindy Mason of Viola, TN; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Connie and David Zahn of McMinnville; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bill and Violet Mason of McMinnville; brother and sister-in-law, Russell Wyatt and Carol Morgan of Atoka, TN; sisters and brother-in-law, Nancy and Frank Foshee of Drummonds, TN and Jennifer Morgan Clingham of Memphis, TN; nieces and nephews, Charles Wyatt Foshee, Whitney Marie Avery and husband David and two children, Rebecca Morgan, Daniel Morgan and David Morgan; three aunts, Jean Douglas of Sardis, MS, Sue Thompson of Florence, AL and Janet Lytle and husband Dennis of Spokane, WA; and uncle, Denon Douglas and wife Rosemary of Bacaville, CA.

    Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, May 22, 2017 in High's Chapel with Wayne Cantrell to officiate. Interment will follow in Webb Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday and from 12:00 p.m. Monday until the time of service at High's.
