    John S. Hall died at Mitchell, Iowa, on Tuesday morning, aged 71 years, of lung trouble. Mr. Hall was one of the early settlers of this place. He came here from St. Lawrence Co., N.Y. Funeral services were held at Mitchell yesterday. The remains were brought to this place on yesterday afternoon's train, and buried at Oak Hill. He was the father of our townsman, Dyer F. Hall. The other children are Enoch W., Hollis, Darwin, Ace, Belle, and Allen, all living at Mitchell. His wife also survives him.

    Bernice M. Glassel, 90, of Austin, died Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2002, at the Austin Medical Center.

    She was born Aug. 3, 1912, in Austin, to Enoch and Bell (Holms) Hall.

    She married Joseph Glassel and was a homemaker.

    Survivors include daughter, Donna Hull, Portland, Ore.; three grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; sister, Sylvia Brimacomb, Albert Lea; nieces and nephews.

    She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Hollis and Ted; sister, Doris.

    Visitation: One hour before the service on Saturday.

    Service: 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 26, 2002, at the funeral home with Rev. G.C. Knutson officiating. The casket bearers will be her nieces and nephews.

    AUSTIN -- The funeral for Theodore R. "Ted" Hall will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin with the Rev. Harold Usgaard officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery in Austin.

    Mr. Hall, 80, of 601 Ninth St. N.W., a retired longtime Hormel Foods Corp. employee, died Wednesday (Dec. 13, 1995) at his home.

    Born July 8, 1915, in Austin, he attended Austin public schools and married Margaret Smith on Oct. 25, 1937. Mr. Hall worked at Hormel for 36 years before his retirement in 1977. He was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church, Austin Elks Lodge and Austin Boxing Club. An avid sports fan and well-known Austin-area golfer, he was a member of the Austin Country Club and Cedar River Country Club in Adams.

    Survivors include his wife; two sons, Brian of Hawthorne, Calif., and Dale of Merced, Calif.; four daughters, Marsha (Mrs. Steve) Green of Pasadena, Calif., Mary (Mrs. Dick) Ellefson of Valencia, Calif., Kay (Mrs. Dick) Smaby of Austin and Joan (Mrs. Larry) Diggins of Needles, Calif.; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two sister, Bernice Glassel and Sylvia Brimacomb. He was preceded in death by a brother, a sister and a son.

    Friends may call from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at Worlein Funeral Home in Austin and an hour before the service Saturday at the church.

    Memorials are suggested to the Mower County Chapter of the American Cancer Society.

    Sylvia E. Brimacomb 96 formerly of Austin died Monday February 9, 2015 at Good Samaritan Society in Albert Lea where she had been a resident for a number of years.

    Sylvia was born in Austin on February 19, 1918 to Enoch and Belle (Holmes) Hall. She attended school in Austin. Sylvia married Maitland Brimacomb April 25, 1941. She was a homemaker and a mother of one son, Leonard.

    Sylvia enjoyed coloring and solving word puzzles.

    Survivors include one son, one sister-in-law, one granddaughter and nieces and nephews.

    Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents, husband Maitland, 2 brothers Theodore and Hollis, two sisters Doris and Bernice and daughter-in-law Joyce Brimacomb.

    There will be no visitation.

    An informal gathering with family members will take place at Sylvia's graveside at 11AM on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Oakwood Cemetery in Austin.
