SOUTH BERWICK, Maine '97 Myrtle Edna (Mickey) Small, 93, passed away peacefully October 8, 2012.
Born July 28, 1919, in Cherryfield, Maine, she was the daughter of the late Ralph B. Oakes and Elinor Tibbetts Oakes Huntley.
She married Herbert M. Small, June 25, 1939, who predeceased her in 1980.
She was a member of South Berwick Free Will Baptist Church for 66 years. She was also a member of the missionary Group, Garden Club, Woman's Club, Arts and Crafts, Current Events, Rebekahs, African Violet Society, and the Boys Scouts of America. She took watercolor lessons under Clint Pendleton. In her earlier years, she enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her children, James M. Small of Wells, Maine, Janet M. Foster of Dexter, Maine, Joel M. Small of Smithfield, Virginia; as well as eight grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Myrtle married Herbert M. Small on 25 Jun 1939 in Maine. Herbert was born on 14 Dec 1915 in Charleston, Penobscot County, Maine; died on 10 Sep 1980. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
