    The following is from "The Genealogy of the Descendants of John Clough of Salisbury Massachusetts" published 1952:

    ABEL (Ephraim, Jonathan, John, John) Born March 8, 1765 at Stafford, Conn. On May 29, 1788 he married Esther Richardson of Newton Center, Mass., and he then resided at Belchertown, Mass. In 1795 he removed to Fabius, N. Y., where he lived until his death in April, 1815. He and his wife are buried in the old cemetery in the rear of the Baptist Church at Fabius.
