Obituary:
WESTFIELD -- Elmer E. Hall, 82, of 18 3rd Ave., died Sunday at home.
He was the superintendent of Pine Hill Cemetery in Westfield for 22 years, retiring in 1989. Previously, he owned the Corner Store in Russell for 20 years. He also worked for the former Westfield River Paper Co., Russell, for 20 years.
Born here, he was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific Theater.
He leaves his wife, the former Elizabeth Nelson; two sons, Ronald F. of Kotz Springs, La., and Mark N. of Okeechobee, Fla.; a daughter, Bonnie M. Ross of Hyannis; a brother, Alvin of Fort Meyers Beach, Fla.; two sisters, Avis Stevens of Southwick and Doris Demers of Chicopee; eight grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
The funeral will be Tuesday morning at Firtion-Adams Funeral Home, with burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, all in Westfield. Calling hours are this afternoon and evening.
