Alexander served in the American Revolutionary War in Blandford, Massachusetts.
Alexander was a member of the Scioto Company. He was present in Worthington when the partition of land was made, August 11, 1804. He received five town lots, and 209 acres of farmland. He also received 275 acres south of Worthington which is now Clinton Township.
Alexander was also one of the incorporators of St. John's Episcopal Church in 1807.
