Thomas first married on Nov 17, 1664 at the age of 27. His bride, Ruth Howland was the daughter of John and Elizabeth Tilley Howland, Both of whom came to America aboard the Mayflower, Thomas and Ruth Howland Cushman had 3 children: Robert (1665), Desire (1668) and Thomas III (1670).

After the death of Ruth, he married Abigail Titus Fuller, the widow of John Fuller, on Oct 16, 1679. Their children were Job (1680), Bartholomew (1684), Samuel (1687) and Benjamin Cushman (1691).

Old Burial Grounds is also known as Hillcrest Cemetery and is located on Main Street; Plympton, Plymouth Co., MA.

The second family was when Thomas married Mehitable Faunce (1722-1761) after February 18, 1737/1738 when intentions to marry were posted in the Kingston Church. Mehitable was the daughter of John Faunce (1683-1751) and Lydia Cooke (1685-1738). Thomas and Mehitable had 12 children together.
