      Elisha married 1st Mercy/Marcy SHERMAN 23 Mar 1786, Rochester, Plymouth County, Massachusetts. They had one child who died young.

      Elisha married 2nd Keturah WEST, 14 Jul 1793, Tisbury, Martha's Vineyard Island, Dukes County, Massachusetts. They had children:

      Catherine West (BASSETT) LANGDON,
      Elisha BASSETT, Jr., and
      Mercy BASSETT.

      Elisha married 3rd to Abigail DILLINGHAM 30 Mar 1799, Sandwich, Barnstable County, Massachusetts. They had children:

      Elisha was a soldier and patriot in the American Revolutionary War. In 1780, he was a private in Captain Nathan TOBEY's company on the Rhode Island Alarm. (Note: His grave is marked by the DAR, Daughters of the American Revolution. "Roster of Soldiers and Patriots of the American Revolution Buried in Indiana, Volume II" published by the Indiana Daughters of the American Revolution 1966.)
