He was in Lt Bartlett's Co., which marched on Lexington Alarm, 22 Apr 1775, and was credited with 5 days' service and mileage. He subsequently enlisted in Capt Eben Webber's Co., Col John Fellows' Regt. Son of Zachariah Sears and Mehitable (Crowell) Sears. He married Jedidah Conant on Apr 9,1777 at Bridgewater,MA. Children: Lois Sears Fuller, Mehitable Sears Rogers(wife of Moses Rogers), Mary Sears Thayer, Zachariah Sears, Ahira Sears, Peter Sears, Rowland Sears Jr, Thomas Sears, Roxana Sears Lilly, and Abner Sears.
