  • Notes
    • He was the son of Stephen Henry Treat (1747-1794) and Grace Sage (1757-1789).

He served in the War of 1812. His father, Stephen Henry Treat Jr, and his grandfather, Stephen Henry Treat Sr, served in the Revolutionary War. They are listed in the Sons of the American Revolution.

He married Margaret Williams (1781-1870) Aug 1798 in Fallowfield, Crawford, Pennsylvania. They had the following children:

      Hannah W Treat-Hall (1799-1875)
      Grace Treat-Berry (1801-1831)
      William Williams Treat (1804-1866)
      Ephaw Marie Treat-Miller (1805-1843)
      Stephen Henry Treat (1811-1885)
      James Williams "Bride" Treat (1813-1857)
      Richard Treat (1815-1895)
      Luama Treat-Newton (1816-1845)
      John Berry Treat Jr (1820-1898)
      Edward C Treat (1822-)
      Hulda Treat-Barker-Rowland (1824-1911)

Although it is not known for sure where he was buried, it is probable that he was buried at the Crown Center Cemetery in Morgan County, Indiana, where his daughter Lauma was buried.

A copy of his will can be located at the Hendricks County, Indiana Court House. It is filed in Deed Book 4 pages 52-54. It was filed there because he owned property in Hendricks County. (His original will, filed in Morgan County, was destroyed.)
