  Maddock MacInnis came from Nova Scotia from a Scotch Regiment that the English disbanded there. According to the Robert Lee Hall genealogy (p. 363): "His first child bon on his South Gardiner farm weighed 15 pounds. Dr. Ara Libby asked, "Shall I save the mother or the child?" He saved both, and Ara MacInnis was named after the doctor."
