    • Capt. George Carpenter was a past owner of the property once known as 'Shuttle Shop." The "Shuttle Shop" made many of the shuttles used in Uxbridge Mills. It was located on Drabble Tail Brook near the center of town and less than one-eighth
      of a mile from the Mumford River. This brook overflowed its banks annually onto Main Street until it was enclosed beneath granite blocks from eh river under Main Street up to the Shuttle Shop property.
