  • Notes
    • Lt. George Linwood Hall was the son of George Washington Hall and Effie Sweet. A pioneering aviator, Linwood served as a pilot in the U.S. Armed Forces during WWI. Prior to his service Linwood enrolled at M.I.T., studying chemical engineering. Later he ran an airborne sight-seeing and air transport business in the vicinity of Yarmouth, on Cape Cod. While on a test flight attempting to determine the cause of persistent engine trouble one day, together with his mechanic, Linwood lost control of his aircraft and crashed. Both he and his mechanic were killed. The cause of the failure was never determined.

Linwood was a member of St. James Lodge of Masons and of Mansfield Post 198 of the American Legion. He was engaged to Miss Constance King. Linwood was survived by his parents, four sisters Misses Bernice, Beulah, Helen and Marjorie and two brothers, Clifton and Sumner.
