      [He] m. Sept. 15, 1869, Laura Robinson of Newport, where he res.  Was for many years register of deeds for Sullivan Co. He was one of the first soldiers that enlisted from Cornish during the Civil War. He enlisted April 28, 1861, in the 2nd N. H. Regt. of three months' men. Was at the disasterous battle of Bull Run, was taken prisoner aand conveyed to Libby Prison in Richmond and after several months was exchanged.
