"John N. Sims was a wheelwright and a buggy maker. Followed the migration trails from Ohio into Indiana with the Halls, Simmons and Sims families. John and family lived for many years in Muncie and Fremont, Indiana. John Wesley, [son of Nelson Wesley Hall and Sarah Sims Hall] their grandson spent his school year time with them in Muncie and also Fremont, as his family lived some of the time in Michigan."

"Saran N. Sims Hall, mother of John Wesley Hall, was a devout Methodist, having raised so by her parents. Her son was named for the founder of the Methodist Church. She had a very beautiful singing voice and always sang in the local choir. She taught her son John Wesley Hall to play the violin, by singing songs to him. He inherited her gift for music."

Annie Hall Lindquist, daughter of John Wesley Hall
