  • Notes
    • From FindaGrave:

She died after Mar 21,1675/6 (when she,as executrix, presented the inventory of her husband's estate) and before Oct 4,1676 (date of inventory of her estate).

NOTE: A stone marked "M C" in Newman Cemetery in East Providence,RI has been said to be hers, and the death date of 1700 on it has been repeatedly, in error, been attributed to her, starting with Amos carpenter in 1898. (Reference: NEHGR 159:44-5). The same article indicates Margaret was likely buried in the same cemetery as her husband, and provides detail on her death in 1676. The "M C" stone in Newman Cemetery belongs to Mary Kingsbury Cooper.

She was the daughter of John and Juliana ____ Sutton of Rehoboth.

Children: Joseph Carpenter Jr, Benjamin Carpenter, Abigail Carpenter, Esther Carpenter, an infant daughter, John Carpenter, Hannah Carpenter, Solomon Carpenter, and Margaret Carpenter Chaffee.
