HIRAM STERLING POMEROY, M. D.,; studied medicine at Yale College. Studied in Germany and Austria, receiving the degree of M. D. at Leipsic; while studying in Europe he was connected with the missionary work of the American Board. He was a prolific writer, and was the author of books bearing on the Malthusian controversy; "Ethics of Marriage,". He was a Fellow of the Massachusetts Medical Society; member of the American Academy of Political and Social Science; president of the Pomeroy Family Association. For his medical and surgical work, and for scientific writing he received the degree of M. A. from Yale in 1891.
