The son of Nicholas and Experience (Stone) Hall. He served briefly in the War of 1812 as a Private in Capt. Stephen Blake's Company of Lt. Col. William Ryerson's 1st Regiment which performed duty at Portland, ME from Sep. 14 to Sep. 24, 1814.
Solomon, a Carpenter, married to Susannah Cole at Falmouth, ME in 1815. They were the parents of two known children, George L., born in 1832, and Orin, born in 1835. Though her date of death is unknown, Susannah must have died prior to Jan. 28, 1839 when Solomon married to Elizabeth Lucy Wescott, the daughter of Joseph and Hannah, at Boston. They were the parents of nine children, including Edward G. b. 1840; Ephraim H. b. 1841; Nicholas S. b. 1843; Noah C. b. 1847; Esther E. b. 1848 and d. 1850; Eda Jane b. 1850; Andrew S. b. 1853; Daniel W. b. 1858; and Mary b. 1860.
Solomon was 68 years old when he died of Phthisis (Tuberculosis) at his family's home at 5 Village Place in Boston's South End. His wife Elizabeth died at Auburn, NH in 1898.
