    • From FindaGrave:

      Civil War veteran
Private, Co. K and Co. B, 99th New York Infantry

Edward was the son of Elisha and Anna (Wright) Vaughan.

He enlisted as a Private in Co. K of the 99th New York Infantry at Boston on January 11, 1862. This regiment, which had a large contingent from the Bay State, performed mostly coastal guard duty in North Carolina. Edward was discharged due to disability on January 12, 1865.

Edward was married three times. His first was to Minerva F. Harlow in 1861, followed by a second to Carrie Hart in 1875. Edward was a 53-year-old Plymouth farmer when in 1892 he married as his third wife Ada L. Hall, the 37-year-old daughter of Jerome and Catherine E. (Vinal). A daughter, Marion Mae, was born on Dec. 25, 1895. Both Ada and Marion are reported to have died, in 1915 and 1989 respectively, at Nobleboro, Oxford County, ME.
