      A LIFE RESIDENT OF WOOD COUNTY
      John William Snodgrass is dead at Williamstown Home

      John William Snodgrass, age 76, a life long resident of Wood county and for many years a resident of Williamstown, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. William G. Bailey, Saturday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock. The deceased had been in excellent health until Thursday of last week when he was suddenly taken ill with a general breakdown and weakened rapidly.

      John William Snodgrass was born at Parkersburg in the year 1834. In 1856 he moved his family to Williamstown and engaged in farming. He was a son of the Honorable John F. and Louise Kinnaird Snodgrass and a brother of the late Judge Kinnaird Snodgrass of this city. He is survived by four children who are Mrs. William G. Bailey, Mrs. James E. Thompson, John F. and Clarence Snodgrass all of whom reside in Williamstown. His wife who was before her marriage Miss Eunice Hall, of Marietta, died 27 years ago. The deceased was a devout member of the Episcopal church.

      The funeral will occur this afternoon at 2 o'clock from the home of Mrs. Bailey, at Williamstown and interment will be in the Williamstown cemetery. Rev. S. Scollay Moore of this city will officiate at the services.
