      SAGAMORE WOMAN DIES

Sagamore, July 10 –  Mrs. Myra Sears Grey, 71, proprietor of Grey's Lodge here the last seven years, died at her home yesterday after a long illness. [See photo of Grey's Lodge]

She was the wife of Richard E. Grey of Sagamore and the daughter of John G. and Sally (Bearse) Sears.

Mrs. Grey was born in Chatham and was graduated from Dennis High School. She was married to Mr. Grey in Harwich 49 years ago next month. A resident of Sagamore the last seven years, she previously had lived 27 years in Sandwich.

Mrs. Grey was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints.

Besides her husband she leaves a son, Stanley E. Grey of Sandwich; a daughter, Mrs. Merle Grey Hall of Forestdale; a brother, Lloyd W. Sears of West Bridgewater and four sisters, Mrs. N. Ava Harrigan and Miss Addie Sears, both of Onset, Mrs. Leverett Garfield of Dennisport and Mrs. George Snell of East Wareham. She also is survived by seven grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.

      Funeral arrangements will be announced.

      MIRA'S EULOGY
      by Pastor Rick Hall,
      (Mira's Grandson)

Grandma Grey was a wonderful lady and from this grandson's viewpoint, and, having only known her till I was 8 years old (1952), she was a loving, caring individual who endured an abusive marriage by her husband - both to her and to us Hall kids growing up at Grey's Lodge in Sagamore from 1947 thru 1952, but we all have wonderful memories of our Grandma Mira Grey; next to Mom, she was the most gentlest woman on earth.

One of my earliest recollections was when I was about four standing on a chair in the old kitchen at 7 Pleasant Street in Sagamore, being bathed with a sponge by my Grandma; she really loved us and though we had a bath tub upstairs, she generally bathed us in the kitchen, standing on a chair - it was probably easier for her at her age, being 68 or 69 at the time, to use a chair rather than be on her knees at the edge of a bath tub?

All your grandchildren love you Grandma, we loved you then and we love you now too. We hope to see you in heaven one day, very soon, especially based on the world situation today.
