  From FindaGrave: George S. Thompson was the son of Arlin and Louisa Bancroft Thompson. He married Ella M. Gove on December 7, 1876 in Windsor, Vermont. He died of typhoid pneumonia. Enlisted in Company E, Vermont 1st Cavalry Regiment on 28 Jul 1864. Mustered out on 21 Jun 1865.
